Acupuncture treatments for:

  • Skin diseases: psoriasis, rash, itchy, insect bites, etc.
  • Pain (backaches, headache, shoulders, etc.)
  • Symptoms of stress, digestive problems
  • Weakness and pain from serious illness

Acupuncture has more than 2000 years of history with more than 1.3 billion people in China and the world using this form of treatment to supplement mainstream health care. Acupuncture is the only form of treatment with little or no side effects but it certainly takes a little longer than tablet therapy for effects; however the benefits usually last longer. This is one of the most effective form of treatment over the centuries because China has been the most populous country in the world, with acupuncture available to the population as its main health. It is not magic but it works. I grew up with it and witnessed its results.

Acupuncture can be done for various conditions including skin tone, psoariasis etc. Please be sure to discuss this option in detail with your treating physician. I have been successful in treating psoariasis patients without the use of medication. Please note that acupuncture usually requires a course of 5 to 10 treatment sessions before you can see any result, depending on severity and conditions. Patient compliance with the advise of the doctor is equally as important to enable the treatment to be effective. If your doctor orders for this treatment, please be sure to declare any medication, drugs or supplements you are taking and inform the doctor of any other medical conditions that you might have.

Acupuncture can be done conventionally with needles, electronically without needles or by the use of pressure points. If for some reason the use of needles is deemed not suitable, pressure with fingers or equipment on acupuncture points can also be used to produce similar effects. The effectiveness of acupuncture as a form of treatment is dependent on the skill of accurate diagnosis and application of the appropriate treatment by the practitioner. All practitioners should also be medically qualified, to make the proper diagnosis and recognise medical conditions that require Xrays, CT or blood tests etc. Acupuncture has been regarded as a complete and comprehensive form of health care by billions of people for centuries hence should be applied after proper diagnosis by qualified practitioners only. Proper acupuncture quralifications usually require 3 to 4 years of additional training after graduating from medical school with MD or MBBS. Not all headaches are to be treated the same way; proper diagnosis is critical. Acupuncture and each practitioner have their limitations; hence combining the best of all available skills and knowledge would produce the best result for the patient's health.
